“Look here,” Xander purred, grabbing Millie’s neck bow and gently tugging her closer. The doctor smiled, sickeningly sweet, as he placed a hand under her chin, his thumb resting on her lower lip. “That’s better, isn’t it? Now I can see that pretty, blushing face.”
Millie’s cheeks burned with embarrassment and exhilaration. She wanted to speak, but words escaped her as Xander made her meet his emerald gaze. She was pinned between him and the library desk – nowhere to run, and no way to look anywhere but at him.
“Cat got your tongue, mousey?” he asked, tilting his head to the side. He leaned closer, his tongue darting out across his lower lip, like a predator sizing up his prey. He was so close; Millie tried to crane her head so she could kiss him, but his hold on her bow kept her just far enough that their lips wouldn’t meet.
She whined, a desperate, involuntary, pathetic noise. Shameful longing burned in her chest. “Xander,” she managed to whimper. “Aren’t you gonna kiss me?”
“And why would I do that,” Xander chuckled, “when it’s so much more fun to watch you squirm?” He ran his thumb over her lip. “Beg me for it.”
Millie felt him press his body flush against hers. She was truly trapped – and there was no place she’d rather be. “Xander,” she pouted. “Please kiss me?”
“Try harder, little mouse.” He leaned in close, his mouth ghosting over her cheek, to her ear, down over her neck… Millie could hardly think. Her brain felt foggy with desire. And all she wanted was a kiss! His lips hovered over her jugular. If Millie didn’t know any better, she’d have thought he was about to bite into her.
“Please kiss me,” Millie repeated, more firmly this time. Xander pulled away, looking directly at her again. His gaze made her feel like she was standing in a heat wave. It was sharp, burning, fierce – like the fiery, humiliating desire he stoked in her. Her knees felt weak. “Please, Xander, please. Just one kiss. Just one?”
He simply hummed in reply, his usual little hmm that typically endeared him to Millie, but now frustrated her. “Xander!” she cried, grabbing the front of his waistcoat and tugging. Millie felt as though she might collapse into him. “Please, please. I just want to be kissed. You like kissing me, right? Stop teasing me already!” His eyes glittered with mischief as he watched her shameful display. And Millie couldn’t stop debasing herself for one little kiss! Damn him! “Xander, please… Don’t make me cry! Kiss me! Please, please, please, please –!” Her voice nearly reached a fever pitch, but the doctor hushed her – with his lips on hers, finally, mercifully.
His thumb gently opened her mouth, allowing him to slip his tongue in. Millie melted against him, her eyes fluttering shut as Xander finally claimed his prize. Humiliation crept up her spine. She’d been made to make a fool of herself, to cry and beg for him, and she’d loved it. Her grip on his waistcoat tightened as he kissed her fervently. His tongue on hers, his hands dropping to her waist before slipping down and back, between her and the desk… He chuckled at her embarrassed squeak, pulling away so they could catch their breath. “See? That wasn’t too hard,” he purred, kissing her temple. Millie shuddered at his honeyed whisper, clinging to his vest. “All you had to do was ask nicely, darlin,” he drawled. “Mm. I think we’ve spent enough time alone – Grezzo will be worried, dontcha think?”
“You torture me,” she murmured, her body unbearably warm.
“I wouldn’t do it if you didn’t bring it out in me,” he replied. “If you didn’t love it, Millie…” She buried her face in his chest at that, and he laughed. “Aww, poor thing.” He patted her back. “We’ll finish this later, mousey.”
“If you don’t kill me first...”
